May Schedule

Hi Ladies,

So I hope it is alright … I tried to fit in all the trails we like to run this month which will mean we will be traveling a bit to get to them …

The book for this Session is Terry Fox ‘His Story’ the revised edition. I have heard that the library does not have it, but I believe Amazon has it fairly inexpensive.

We will have a fundraiser this month for the Scholarship fund … please attend if you can, and encourage your friends and family.

We also had 3 applications submitted for the scholarship for this year. I have them with me all the time so we can vote on how we should distribute the funds. Please remind me when you see me so we can get the money given out before the end of the month. We have the option of giving all of the funds to one girl or split it between 2 of them or all 3 of them.  I will keep everyone updated as to when we will have the girls join us to give the money out.

May Schedule

Thursday May 1st, 2014 – 7:30 pm – Hill Repeat Workout on Ward Hill … We will meet at the bottom of the hill on 70th Ave on the West side of Ward – this is a quick workout!

Sunday May 4th, 2014 – 8:00 am – Meet at the dog park on 64th and West of Virgil and we will run the Fairmont Trail ... We can run the whole trail for 8 miles … I would like a volunteer to do the aide station, there was a conversation about moving that down the trail a little ways so if someone can help with figuring that out I would appreciate it!

May 4th – The Women’s Classic in Westminster for anyone who would like to race this day.

Tuesday May 6th, 2014 – 5:30 pm – Meet at Oberon Track for a fabulous speed workout.

Sunday May 11th, 2014 – 7:00 am – Meet at Starbucks on 64th and Ward, we will carpool to Angela’s house and run Lookout Mountain.

Tuesday May 13th, 2014 – 5:30 pm – Meet at Oberon Track for a track workout.

Thursday May 15th, 2014 – 6:30 pm – Meet at the bottom of Ward Hill on 70th Ave for a Hill Repeat Workout.

Sunday May 18th, 2014 – 7:00 am – Meet at Starbucks at 64th and Ward and we will carpool to Matthew Winters and run those trails… hopefully the snow has melted ;).

Tuesday May 20th, 2014 – 5:30 pm – Meet at Oberon Track for another speed session.

Wednesday May 21st, 2014 – 5:30 pm – We will meet at 5:30 pm at Buffalo Wild Wings on 80th and Carr and go for a run and then have ‘happy hour.’ If you would rather not run and just meet us for drinks you are welcome to do that. If you cannot make it for the run or ‘happy hour’  you can go and eat there anytime that day and just mention you are with “Arvada Running Club” and 15% of your check, including alcohol will be donated to our scholarship fund. Please encourage your family and friends to go eat also. The more people that show up, the more we will have for the fundraiser.

Sunday May 25th, 2014 – 7:00  am – Meet at Starbucks at 64th and Ward and we will carpool to Elk Meadow and run the trails…

Monday May 26th, 2014 – Bolder Boulder race – Do we want to carpool?    

Tuesday May 27th, 2014 – 5:30 pm Oberon Track for another track workout….

Thursday May 29th, 2014 – 6:30 pm – Meet at the bottom of the Ward Hill for another Hill repeat session.

Sunday June 1st, 2014 – 7:00 am – We will run the Clear Creek trail … We will meet at the park on 44th and Field (all the way to the south part of the parking lot). If someone would volunteer to do the aide station at Youngfield I would really appreciate it. ltkrapes@msn.com

April Schedule!

Hi ladies!

With the new month we will start adding in the wonderful track workouts and also some hill repeats…Don’t worry, we will start slow!

The Slacker Race Registration is currently happening. Right now we have 2 relay teams, a few running the ½ and a few running the 4 mile race. Please remember to register if you plan to join us.

Reminder – our book this time is “Terry Fox, His Story…The revised version.” When we pick a date, we will let you know.

I also want to thank everyone who has helped me out this last month with my crazy schedule and not being as available as I would like. I really appreciate the help.

April Schedule ---

Sunday April 6, 2014 – Platte River ½ Marathon – and for the rest of us, we will run the Ralston Creek Trail starting from the Tennis courts at 64th and Miller. Our 8:00 am start time seems to be working out, but we will re-evaluate as the month goes on.  Our Schedule shows 7, but I also realize that many people want / need to go further. If I could get an aide station in the Elderidge area that would be great as it is about 3 miles out, then people can go as far as they would like.

Sunday April 13, 2014 – Prairie Doge 1/2, 10k and 5k – and for the rest of us, we will run the Clear Creek Trail starting from Anderson Park at 44th and Field at 8:00 am. This parking lot is all the way to the south on Field. There are 8 miles scheduled this weekend and again I know people would like to go further. The out and back seems to work well for that situation. If I could get a volunteer to put an aide station at Youngfield I would really appreciate it.

Tuesday April 15, 2014 – 5:00 pm – Track workout at Oberon Middle School – First one of the season…It will be fabulous I’m sure!

Thursday April 17, 2014 – 6:30 pm – Hill Repeat workout – we will only do these every other week and they will be short workouts! I promise. I did the later start time to maybe help out for those who can’t make the early track time. We will start with the hill on Ward Road just south of 72nd. We will park on 70th Ave (west of Ward) and run the ‘hill.’ I don’t anticipate it taking more than 30-45 min.

Sunday April 20, 2014 – Easter Sunday – I’ll take suggestions on what you ladies would like to do … maybe a Saturday morning run, maybe a Sunday afternoon run … you let me know!

Tuesday April 22, 2014 – 5:00 pm – Track workout at Oberon Middle School

Sunday April 27, 2014 – We will meet at Starbucks at 64th and Ward at 7:30 am and run either Bear Creek or Green Mountain. Mary will lead the run for us and I’m sure she will have a fabulous route planned!
